'Biggest signing of the summer!' - Excited Arsenal fans react as Luis Campos holds 'talks'

Arsenal fans have taken to social media and reacted to the news that Luis Campos is in talks over a sporting director role.

According to RMC Sport, the Gunners have held talks with the transfer guru about joining the club this summer, although they are set to face strong competition from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Campos is currently a free agent after his exit from Ligue 1 outfit Lille was announced in December 2020.

A statement via the club's official website read: "Following the change of owner, Gerard Lopez and Luis Campos are leaving the club with immediate effect. Marc Ingla has resigned from his duties as managing director but remains on the club's board of directors."

Campos is one of the most revered scouts in the modern game having been credited with helping to attract Radamel Falcao, Bernardo Silva, and Joao Moutinho to Monaco, while also helping to unearth the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Nicolas Pepe and Anthony Martial.

As a result, it's no surprise there's a clamour for him to arrive at Arsenal.

As can be seen above, following reports of the Gunners being in talks with Campos, a number of Arsenal supporters have been getting rather excited about the idea of appointing the ex-Lille chief.
