Big twist in Swansea City's interest in Liverpool's Rhian Brewster as loan man reportedly set to leave Liberty

Bournemouth are reportedly set to bring Sam Surridge's loan spell at Swansea City to a premature end.

According to The Sun , the Cherries are keen to take the striker back before the end of the season, and his departure could well intensify efforts to bring Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster on board.

Surridge has netted seven goals in 23 games in all competitions for the Swans since arriving on loan in the summer, and a possible return to Dean Court has previously been mentioned as a possibility by boss Eddie Howe.

Bournemouth have been hit hard by injuries this season, and bringing the 21-year old back into the fold would undoubtedly come as a boost to Howe's attacking options.

And, it could theoretically pave the way for the Swans to complete a move for Brewster.

The youngster has been heavily linked with a move to SA1 since it became clear that Jurgen Klopp was prepared to loan him out this January, although it's understood that no decision has yet been made on his future.

Talks have already taken place but, despite reports suggesting the Swans were 'on the brink' of completing a move, there is little sign of an imminent breakthrough.

Indeed, reports suggest there is unlikely to be any further movement on the teenager's future until after the FA Cup clash with Everton this weekend.

While it may speed up any chase for Brewster, Surridge's departure would also potentially have an effect on Swansea's interest in Bristol City forward Kasey Palmer.

It was initially deemed unlikely that the club would go for both players given loan rules that allow only five loanees within a matchday squad.

Should Surridge be recalled, those rules would no longer be a concern, although it remains to be seen just how willing Bristol City would be to loan one of their most technically gifted players, albeit one that has recently struggled for game time, to a rival club.
