Big Ten vote confirmed via Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel source. League set to officially announce.

Pop the champaign, call the relatives, and call the neighbors. It appears as though the Big Ten will be announcing a return of the fall college football season.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that the league was close to announcing a decision to reverse its course to postpone the season amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but things continued to be status quo as the league continued to meet and discuss medical protocols and testing.

However, we saw some signs of things to come today with Nebraska president Ted Carter letting the cat out of the bag at a speaking engagement unaware that the mic he was in front of was “hot.” We also witnessed the Minnesota Football Twitter account drop a hint that October football may be coming.

Now, we have a confirmed source from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal’s Jeff Potrykus that the votes have indeed occurred and that things are locked and loaded to announce the return of fall football in the Big Ten.

Now, nothing is absolutely official just yet, but it looks like we’ll be hearing something soon. Start making plans Ohio State fans, because it looks like there’s going to be a run at some trophies yet still in the football-crazed state of Ohio.
