Big Ten releases Men’s Basketball conference opponent schedule

The NCAA Tournament feels like it still just ended yesterday, but the Big Ten has already released the new Big Ten Men’s Basketball conference opponent schedule for the 2019-20 season.

Here is the breakdown:

Home: Iowa, Ohio State, Rutgers
Away: Indiana, Nebraska, Purdue
Home/Away: Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, Wisconsin

So Michigan State will have to head back to Indiana this year, a team where they lost two games to last season, and they won’t have a shot to play them at home either. They will be losing Romeo Langford however, so Indiana, who wasn’t necessarily a great team last year anyway, should be weaker next season.

The Spartans will also be playing Michigan twice, of course, both home and away. This will give Michigan State a chance to go 5-0 over Michigan over two years, a feat that will delight Spartan fans without a doubt.

The Spartans will have to return to Indiana second time in the season as they also have to play Purdue in a tough away game. Michigan State has to travel to Indiana twice in a season, without the opportunity to play either team in East Lansing, which is rough.
