Big Ten has successful medical presentation, expected to vote in next 72 hours on fall football

Alright folks, one huge, huge hurdle has reportedly been cleared to bring back football in the heartland safely. According to a report from Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, the medical presentation to the Big Ten Steering Committee composed of eight conference Presidents and Chancellors was successful today. That is expected to trigger a vote on starting the fall football season within the next 72 hours.

Heading into the presentation, there were reportedly still some of the Steering Committee needing to be convinced that breakthroughs in rapid testing and monitoring of the heart condition known as myocarditis were far enough along to trigger a revisit of the decision to postpone the season..

It was not a foregone conclusion that things would arrive at a point in which a new vote would be put forth for all fourteen Presidents and Chancellors, but the Steering Committee must have seen enough to move forward.

This is clearly big news and is one step closer to the return of Ohio State and Big Ten football — maybe as soon as sometime in October.
