Big squeal

Amid the daily flurry of announcements about job cuts, financial woe and Gaza, the BBC seems to have lost track of its news priorities. The Sun reports that the BBC News channel's breaking news ticker screamed 'HAMSTER THEFT' across the bottom of the screen. To add insult to injury it transpires that Lassie the hamster, who was stolen along with a TV, games console and half a pint of milk, actually disappeared five days ago.
