What’s Going To Happen
It’s a pecking order moment for the Big Sky.
Idaho beat Eastern Washington 28-21 to open things up, and Eastern Washington ripped through Northern Arizona 45-13. The Lumberjacks are at home against a Vandal team that’s been stunningly solid defensively and is getting a strong start to the season under QB Mike Beaudry.
Former Oklahoma State Cowboys Keondre Wudtee has been strong from the start along with Jeff Widener, but the defense has been a disaster.
The Lumberjacks gave up over 600 yards to Eastern Washington and got hammered for 288 passing yards against Southern Utah. Beaudry will push for close to 300 yards, but he has to keep the mistakes in check.
Don’t expect a whole lot of running, but expect a fun offensive fight.

What’s Going To Happen
Can Cal Poly get the passing game going early on?
The Mustangs had their first two games postponed, and now they get to try unleashing the Beau Baldwin offense on a Southern Utah team that hasn’t had any luck in its first two games.
The Thunderbirds dropped their games to Northern Arizona and Idaho State by a total of three points. On the down side, they lost to Northern Arizona and Idaho State – hardly Big Sky killers.
Cal Poly will hardly be sharp from the start, and Southern Utah has been great at controlling the clock – keeping the ball for an average of 40 minutes so far – but the pass D has been rocked.
It won’t be smooth or pretty, but Cal Poly figures it out in the second half to hand Southern Utah another rough loss.

What’s Going To Happen
Can the nation’s No. 2 team flex a little muscle? Weber State rolled by Idaho State 49-21 – getting out 42-7 after three quarters – with Bronson Barron throwing for 312 yards ad four scores and the ground game rolling up 289 yards in the layup.
UC Davis needed a little while to warm up in a 27-17 win over Idaho, but it took over in the second half and a big fourth quarter. The Aggies have the passing game to keep up – Hunter Rodrigues there for 243 yards and three scores – and the D dominated the Vandal ground game.
It’s not going to be so easy this time around.
Weber State won easily against Idaho State despite getting flagged 14 times and turning it over twice. 638 yards of total offense will make up for that, and the O will keep it all going against an UC Davis attack that won’t be able to keep up.

What’s Going To Happen
There’s the Eastern Washington team we were all waiting for.
After playing like a team that needed a tune-up in a loss to Idaho, the Eagles rolled up 413 passing yards from Eric Barriere in a 45-13 win over Northern Arizona. The offense hit on big play after big play and everything looked right.
Idaho State is coming off a last second win over Southern Utah – getting a field goal in the final moments – with Wyoming transfer Tyler Vander Waal throwing three touchdown passes.
Vander Waal will need to throw for 400 to keep up.
The Eastern Washington passing game will keep on going, Tamarick Pierce and the ground attack will balance things out a bit, and it’ll be another big offensive performance.
