
A new residential record of $1.41 million was set for Islington in May and another strong result has come through the week with the quick sale of a property that was described as "unique" to the increasingly popular city fringe suburb.
Harry McKinnon, of Century 21 Novocastrian, launched the transformed 1905 home at 28 Anderton Street on July 17 and reported over 65 inquiries and 43,000 views through realestate.com.au before it sold on Thursday for $1.325 million. Interest came locally and from out of Sydney.

It is believed to be the second-highest residential sale for an Islington home.
"Islington seems to be a very vibrant place at the moment. It is definitely an up and coming suburb," he said.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with off-street parking had undergone an extensive contemporary renovation over two levels that was designed EJE Architecture and built by BuildSmart Constructions.
It retained its original facade, pressed metal ceilings and timber floorboards and had been modernised with polished concrete flooring, smart technology, and open plan indoor-outdoor living.
Tammy Hawkins, of McGrath Newcastle City, reported over 30 groups through the first inspection of another Islington property. A guide has not yet been set for the renovated three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage at 93 Fleming Street, which is open on Saturday at 11am.
