'Big respect!' - The Crystal Palace fans saying the same thing about Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson has sparked a response from Crystal Palace fans after the name of his new baby son was announced.

The Prime Minister's fiancee Carrie Symonds recently birth to a baby boy earlier this week, with the couple confirming today that their son has been named Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson.

And the announcement has prompted a reaction from Crystal Palace fans, with some sharing the theory that Johnson could be an Eagles supporter and the choice of baby name is a nod to the club's talisman Wilfried Zaha.

Johnson has never publicly declared which team, if any, he supports, with the former London mayor stating in 2015 that his allegiances were spread across the capital.

Coronavirus: How has sport been affected?

"I support all of the London teams," Johnson said, before adding that his children were actually Newcastle United fans.

But some Palace fans have a different opinion, with the choice of baby name prompting a response from Eagles fans this afternoon.

Here's what they have been saying on social media.

But according to his fiancee, their baby has been named after the Prime Minister's grandfather Wilfred and her grandfather, Lawrie.

In a post on Instagram, she added that the middle name Nicholas was chosen in honour of the two doctors who saved the Prime Minister's life when he was in intensive care with coronavirus recently.

The two doctors were called Dr Nick Price and Dr Nick Hart.
