There are big redevelopment plans for a shopping centre in the centre of Altrincham.
Trafford council bought the Grafton Centre in 2018 and have now brought property experts CBRE on board.
The firm will carry out an appraisal of all redevelopment options for the site as the authority decides what the centre’s future will look like post-COVID.
Trafford council had already begun the procurement process looking for developers to work on the site before coronavirus hit, but had to put this on hold during the pandemic.
Now the authority is working with CBRE to make a more detailed plan for the centre.
Coun James Wright, Trafford council’s executive member for housing and regeneration, said: “The council is looking at best options for the future of the Grafton Centre and is working closely with CBRE to ensure the best results.

“We have ended the procurement process we had started, as it had commenced in a different economic climate to the one we find ourselves in today. Thank you to all the companies who took part in the process.
“Trafford council will now focus solely on the future of the centre as we go forward.
“The council has been at the forefront of the regeneration of Altrincham town centre in recent years including the successful Market Quarter, public realm works and Altrincham Business Improvement District, and we are very proud of the work that has been carried out.”
