Big news Potterheads – this awesome Harry Potter improv show is returning to the Fringe

A fantastic Harry Potter improv show will be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe this year.

Spontaneous Potter is a comedy play with enough swearing and misbehaving to get you chucked out of Hogwarts for good – so it's not one for the younger Potterheads out there.

It will be running at the Gilded Balloon Rose Theatre from 31 July to August 26 fresh from a sold-out, critically acclaimed run in 2018.

However, even if you were lucky enough to catch the show last year, it is put together using audience and fan suggestion – meaning no two shows are the same and content changes daily.

So it's just like watching a brand new, slightly sweary live Harry Potter show each time.

Edinburgh-based troupe The Spontaneous Players are behind the production and they describe themselves as a "critically-acclaimed, award-winning collective of some of the UK's foremost improv talent".

Last year they even on the Scottish Comedy Award for Best Variety.

They were founded in the city in 2015 and are also responsible for the hugely popular Spontaneous Sherlock shows which have gone down a storm in the capital for the last few years.

In addition to their talented cast made up of Paul Connolly, Eric Geistfeld, Sam Irving, Mara Joy and Will Naameh, they also feature fantastic live musical accompaniment.

So expect to hear some of the superb instrumental pieces made famous by the blockbuster movies given a fresh twist.
