'Big money' - Bristol City boss makes Nottingham Forest promotion prediction

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson says Nottingham Forest have fired themselves into promotion contention this season - but not without splashing the cash.

Under Sabri Lamouchi the Reds have enjoyed a strong start to their Championship campaign and, should the table remain unchanged between now and May, are on course to challenge for promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Their goalless draw with Bristol City on Saturday is, on paper, a game that Forest will feel disappointed not to have won but it was Lamouchi who left the more relieved after midfielder Ryan Yates' sending off left the Reds with ten men .

That results kept them inside the top six, but Johnson believes that their willingness to spend money during the summer has undoubtedly contributed to that strong showing.

“Yeah, I think they're strong,” he told the media, when asked if Forest were in contention for promotion to the Premier League.

“There's big money been spent. They've got a lot of players and they're very organised.

He added: "They're a good side.”
