I always look forward to reviewing Big Max products because they put a lot of thought into what golfers need and what offers next level performance, so it is no surprise to me they are the market leaders in Europe for push carts, golf bags and accessories.
What a treat it has been to test the brand-new Blade IP 2. Working in a golf shop means I am fairly familiar with the mechanisms of folding push trolleys and so in my haste to unbox I didn’t spend long looking at the instructions and it turned out I really didn’t even need to, that is how intuitively the trolley can be erected and folded flat with only one clip that needed to be secured. There is another clip for the handle that allows you to alter its height which is good for the golfer on the taller or shorter side.

The handle is made of a soft durable foam making it very comfortable to hold and maneuver. I have played five rounds of golf using the Blade IP 2, so can now say with confidence it is hands down the best push trolley I have ever used, and I have used a lot of varying brands over the years. It handles like a dream, even when I packed out my bag with drinks, snacks and clothing for every eventuality. I typically though keep my clubs in my lightweight bag, and this is where I felt the Blade IP 2 shines, my stand bag sat on it beautifully, without even needing to secure the legs.

To push around with either of my bags it felt effortless and the brake levers on either wheel, which double up as a stand when the trolley is folded, made it even more convenient to securely park up. To look at, the wheelbase might appear on the narrow side but at no point on the course did I have to work to keep it stable, the balance of the trolley feels very steady, which is likely thanks to the aero-space grade aluminum it is constructed of.

Like my children do with their dinner, I’ve saved my favorite part until last…the new XL organizer panel. I’m a backpack person, wherever or whatever I’m up to I will likely have a backpack on and that is what this organizer felt like, having a backpack worth of space right to hand. By the end of the second hole my bag of tees where in there, along with my phone and rangefinder, it’s so simple and yet so brilliantly handy. So, if you are a fan of keeping your pockets free or find yourself in trousers or skirts that don’t have pockets, this is ideal.
The elephant in the room with this trolley is the price, it is on the pricier side but…for the number of hours and use you will get from your golf trolley the price is justified for the experience you get. Simply put the Blade IP 2 is a great investment in your leisure time and your golf.
