University of Washington big man Isaiah Stewart shared in his pre-draft media availability Monday that he has met with the Boston Celtics virtually, though he isn’t sharing which teams he worked out with as has been the case with many 2020 prospects.
The former Husky said he believed the meetings went well, noting it was a “great … interview, great organization, culture and staff” in Boston.
A mobile rim-protecting and rebounding power forward with a 7-foot-4.75 wingspan who stands 6-foot-8.5, Stewart is built like a tank.
With a developing but underused jumper, the New Yorker could be the steal of the draft if his shot works out.

Speaking to the Celtics Wire on how he envisions his role on a team with an already-crowded frontcourt, Stewart revealed he’s done his homework about the team.
“I know coach Brad Stevens has had success without centers; that’s similar to me. I watched them some in the bubble; I’ll be able to fit in pretty easily with them … the way my game is, with them having Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart, they already have some superstars.”
“I feel like what I do will fit in pretty easily to help the team win games and get them over the hump,” he added.

While much of Stewarts ceiling will be determined to the complexity — and range — of his offense, the Washington forward has a relentless motor evocative of Smart himself.
And anyone calling the Flower Mound native a superstar has already won a place in our heart.
