Big-hearted Dumfries girl to have hair cut to help The Little Princess Trust

Big-hearted Abigail Jamieson is going for the chop tomorrow.

The 11-year-old Dumfries girl will have 10 inches cut from her crowning glory in one quick snip in aid of a cause close to her heart.

The P7 Troqueer Primary pupil will be sending her locks to The Little Princess Trust, which supplies wigs to young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other health conditions.

Kind Abigail has also raised more than a whopping £750 through sponsorship to help the trust foot the bill for making the wig from her hair.

The charity relies solely on the efforts of people like Abigail as it receives no formal funding.

Proud mum Pamela, dad Allan and big sister Charlotte will be at Signature in Dumfries to support Abigail as hairdresser Kirsty sets to work.

Pamela said: “Abigail heard about The Little Princess Trust and decided she wanted to do something for the charity.

“We set up a fundraising page and she’s absolutely thrilled at the amount of money that’s been donated by family, friends and our work colleagues.

“She’s such a kind girl and we’re really proud of her for doing this for a wonderful cause.”
