A kind-hearted Dubliner is offering free Santa visits this festive period.
Drumcondra man Michael Cronin said he wanted to give the kids an opportunity to experience Christmas despite the restrictions.
Michael, 26, started the tradition last year when Ireland was in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He told Dublin Live: "I’ve always been lucky and had the opportunity to see Santa as a kid and I know how happy it makes you feel.
"Because of lockdown last year everything was closing down and there was a lot of uncertainty about a lot of things so I wanted to do something for people in the area who won’t get the opportunity to get to see Santa.
"I had a Santa suit already from when I worked with a homeless group before so I thought this was my time to shine."
Michael said he didn't want to charge people because "it's not in my nature".
The initiative was a success and Michael ended up visiting around 40 houses in Drumcondra.
Sharing one of his favourite memories from last year, Michael said: "One of the first houses I went to I remember I could hear the kids screaming for Santa as I was walking down Griffith Avenue.
"I’m not going to say I was mobbed but they couldn’t believe it. A man in a red suit walking down the road. That was special."
He continued: "I visited a house on Walsh Road and all the other kids were saying they want an iPhone or Xbox or Playstation for Christmas. I visited this house and he said he wanted a typewriter.
"It was a different way of looking at Christmas. It’s very nice to know there are people like that."
