Big hearted Doghouse regulars raise money for brave Emily

Big-hearted punters at a Balloch pub raised a bumper £750 for little Emily after reading about her plight in the Lennox Herald.

Every year, the regulars at the Doghouse take part in a golfing tournament, splitting the cash between two local causes.

Organised by punter Alex Davidson, they have incredibly raised more than £25,000 over the years.

Alex said: “We read about Emily’s story in the Lennox Herald and knew we had to include her in the fundraising this year.

“We have given £750 towards her fund and donated £450 to Loch Lomond Rescue Boat as we split the money between two causes each year.

“She came in with her dad to receive the cheque and she was a wee star.”

Emily’s family have launched a dream bid to fly the youngster to Disney World in Florida once her ordeal is over.

Her uncle Garry Keggan, who is Johny’s brother, has set up a Just Giving page, which has raised more than £2,100 towards the goal.

The community has rallied behind the Bonhill youngster with lots of fundraising events taking place.

The Doghouse Open took place at Ross Priory in Gartcharn, with the fun-packed day raking in £1,200.

Alex added: “We have raised in excess of £25,000 for charities over the 25 years we have been doing it, from Erskine to Childrens Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

“It was an honour to include Emily this year.”
