Big gamble landed at Punchestown as Full Noise is backed from 12/1 into 8/11

A big gamble was landed at Punchestown today as Full Noise won the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Handicap Hurdle.

Having been 12/1 when betting opened on the race last night, the David Dunne-trained horse was backed all the way into 8/11 favouritism.

Despite being unplaced in his eight previous starts, Full Noise travelled well in the hands of jockey Sean Flanagan.

And the gelding laid down a challenge to long-time leader Esthers Marvel at the final hurdle before going on to win by three quarters of a length.

Trainer Dunne told IrishRacing.com : “He’s a big baby and was probably lucky to win.

“He made a lot of mistakes in Wexford and was only beaten 17 lengths. He may have won but for that. That’s why we put him back over hurdles.

“This looked a weak enough race and we thought if he jumped adequately he had a chance.

“Once the money starts coming then the public latch on.”
