Supported by cartoonists, artists, illustrators and designers, the day was an opportunity to participate in a range of drawing, cartooning and craft activities and workshops.
275 people took part in a range of activities and talks which included Drawing music, Hang out your washing, Geometric images, Drawing faces and characters, Release your inner cartoonist, Caricature your family, Letters from the sea, Mono printing, Exploring the Universe, Stencilling: magic and illusion, Monster Mayhem, Frog Olympics, Collage like an artist, Making a 3D bird beak and mask for Bob the artist, Drawing body parts, Three dimensional drawing and using light boxes to create cartoons and caricatures.
Artists and illustrators involved included Kipper Williams, Caroline Holden, Alexandra Leadbeater, Michael Challenger, Harry Venning, David Simonds, Sally Kindberg, Martin Rowson, Judith Walker, Marie-Helene Jeeves, David Page, Jane German, Marion Deuchars, Kevin Whitney, Otto Dettmer, Elena Zeppo, Katy Stoddard and Education Centre staff.
Two musicians from the Orchestra of Age of Enlightenment, Katherine Spencer and Katie Heller played wonderful music throughout the day and the families took part in a range of drawing music activities with Louise Malijenovsky, OAE Education Officer.
The event was part of the Big Draw annual festival.

The musicians who played drawings were absolutely brilliant. So talented. Harry’s cartoon workshop was entertaining and funny, as were the monsters. It was all over so quickly! Hope it’s this good next year! The kids loved Kipper Williams and Alex Leadbeater’s workshops.
Such a wonderful, creative event - Children all having such a good time. I especially love how the musicians play the children’s music score.
I loved the monsters with David Simmonds, meeting Harry Venning and doing Halloween pictures.

I really love the Big Draw. Some of the things I loved were mono printing, 3D drawing and finally Martin Rowson was so funny both talking and drawing. PS I am definitely coming back!
