Big Christian Pulisic decision as Mateo Kovacic starts - Predicted Chelsea team vs West Ham

Chelsea are back in Premier League action tonight against West Ham, and Frank Lampard has a couple of injury concerns.

The big worry will be Christian Pulisic, who picked up a calf problem during the FA Cup win over Leicester City on Sunday.

The American winger has been in superb form since the restart with a couple of goals already and being one of the sharpest Blues players.

However, he might have to be on the sidelines tonight at the London Stadium, as Lampard will not want to lose him for the long-term.

The other issue is when Andreas Christensen, with the Dane also struggling with an injury.

“Christian (Pulisic) has felt a bit of tightness in his calf just as he came off against Leicester, so we're managing him,” Lampard said yesterday.

“I haven't got an answer for it yet, it feels better than it did after the game so we'll see by tomorrow.

“Andreas Christensen likewise a little bit is in the squad but we'll have to see with another 24 hours, because of the tight turnaround.”

However, Christensen should be fit enough to take his place in the side and Lampard will be hoping his combination with Antonio Rudiger continues.

Mateo Kovacic made a big impact when he came into the team on Sunday at half-time, and should be given the nod from the beginning this evening.

Up front, Olivier Giroud should come in for Tammy Abraham, and if Pulisic doesn’t feature then Ruben Loftus-Cheek might come into the wing area.

Predicted Chelsea team (4-3-3): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Alonso; Kovacic, Kante, Mount; Willian, Giroud, Loftus-Cheek.
