Dumfries’ Loreburn Hall opened its doors to a Big Burns Supper theatrical party experience to the delight of audiences at the weekend.
The 12th festival edition featured a new format for BBS favourite, Le Haggis, with a roster of talent and a new soundtrack created by energetic trad folk group Ho-Ro and Dumfries Community Choir.
The line-up included circus performers Matt Pasquet, Josie Jones, Morgan Barbour and Freya Pellie along with aerialist Nicole Pearson, dance artist Sophie Duncan, juggler Rod Laver and Justin Hyslop as Tattie Von Haggis.
The first of four one-off Le Haggis evenings was on Friday featuring a live performance from legendary The Bootleg Beatles and, on Saturday, it was a welcome return to the Big Burns Supper for alternative dance band Colonel Mustard & the Djion 5.
The four one-off evenings also feature local musical talent, including Soul Junction, Chasin the Train and The Lutras.
The format of each evening is entertainment from local bands and DJs kicking off at 6pm in Le Haggis Lounge and the Studio Space, before the two-hour Le Haggis performance at 8.30pm, followed by more bands at 10.30pm, ahead of the main stage music act at 11pm.
Next Friday will see Le Haggis featuring funk and soul maestro DJ Craig Charles and on Saturday it is the turn of Le Haggis featuring Scottish rock band Skerryvore.
Sunday saw the first famiLE HAGGIS daytime show which has been specially created for children. It will be back this Sunday with Hamish the Haggis and friends featuring Dumfries Community Choir, Ho-Ro and the performers of the Le Haggis Company.
