Big Brother star Narinder Kaur alleges producers treated contestants like 'disposable goods'

Former Big Brother Narinder Kaur has hit out at the show's producers, alleging they treated her and other contestants like 'disposable goods'.

Geordie housemate Narinder appeared on the Channel 4 programme's second series back in 2001, being the third housemate evicted by viewers, but, as Big Brother was brought back into the TV spotlight last week by E4 series Best Shows Ever, she claims she's still affected by the way she feels she was mis-treated by producers.

Narinder, who now lives with her family in Leicester and runs social media firm Super Social, took to Twitter after tension brewed between series 2 winner Brian Dowling and host Davina McCall.

The now 47-year-old took to Twitter to post: "...to be fair (and I'm not even mates with Brian anymore . He was treated badly by the producers from day 1 as they wanted Emma. HOWEVER, most us contestants were treated like utter c**p. Disposable goods.

"It only hurt Brian when he was treated the same as he thought he too was above us lowly housemates. And he is too egotistical to learn to be humble.

"Having said that the producers of @bbuk should not be allowed to treat ppl the way they do. Disgusting. I'm still affected to this day how they treated me after bar Rylan whom has always been LOVELY to me."

Last year, Narinder, who was bridesmaid at Brian's wedding five years ago, before their fallout, admitted to Chronicle Live that she hoped being on the show would lead to a showbiz career, saying: "I wanted to be famous. I'm one of the only people who went on Big Brother who will admit that.

"Other people say it was just for a chance to win the money but that's b******s - you knew you probably wouldn't win the money but you knew you'd be famous.

"That's why I did it, that's why everyone did it."
