Big Brother star Lateysha Grace gives birth to baby girl after hospital dash

Lateysha Grace has announced that she has given birth to a baby girl.

The 29-year-old former Big Brother star had been rushed to hospital with a serious illness before the arrival of her daughter, at 34 weeks.

The new mum shared a pic of her "angel baby" from the hospital bed as she told her followers that the newborn was "thriving" despite arriving a few weeks early.

Captioning the pic, Lateysha wrote: "Welcome to the world @babylayke 04/03/2022 , 3.14 pounds . My little Angel baby 34 weeks."

Lateysha was rushed to hospital with a serious illness last week.

She said after giving birth: "What a crazy last two weeks I've had, but she's here and she's thriving."

The reality star, who is best known for her appearances on The Valleys, Million Dollar Baby and Celebrity Ex on the Beach, had previously asked followers to 'pray' for her unborn child after she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia.

The condition, which affects about six per cent of pregnancies, had affected Lateysha for a few weeks before she gave birth.

Speaking last week, she said: “What’s meant to be the most exciting week for me has turned out to be the worst !

“Honestly if anyone feels like they may have preeclampsia please get it checked out ASAP it’s so dangerous to you and your baby . I don’t know how long I’m going to be in here for but please just pray for my baby.”

She said that symptoms of pre-eclampsia had appeared and she consulted a doctor which led to her being taken into hospital.

In thanking her fans, Lateysha said that she regretted not taking note of the symptoms beforehand.

She said: "I wish I was taken more seriously when I went in with swollen feet two weeks ago. I don’t think it would be as severe as it currently is right now.

“And to top of all of this I have covid. I just have to be as strong as I can be for my baby.”
