Big Brother's Anthony Hutton is unrecognisable these days - 16 years after winning show

He was the cheeky Geordie chappie who won Big Brother in 2005 - but now Anthony Hutton has settled into a much quieter life away from the spotlight.

Consett lad Anthony was only 23 when he entered the famous Big Brother house and was crowned the winner 78 days later when the show's final aired on Channel 4.

The Newcastle-born man, who is now 39, became a household name overnight, going from being a trainee barber living with his parents in their County Durham to a national celebrity.

Anthony had a decent spell in the limelight after the series ended, releasing a 70s disco inspired workout DVD, as well as performing at many nightclubs and venues around the country.

Anthony has previously shared the whirlwind that took over his life with Chroniclelive readers, saying: "When I first came off the show, my life completely changed, it was just turned upside down.

Anthony is now a business owner in Darlington, County Durham (Newcastle Chronicle)

"I went into the Big Brother house a lad from County Durham who lived at home and came out with people in the street knowing my name.

"The day I got off the show I was being contacted by agents and a couple of days later I was paid £200,000 to do a photo-shoot with OK magazine.

"From day one it was just crazy."

Life's a lot quieter for Anthony these days.

He's now a family man and business owner, living in Darlington, County Durham.

Anthony married his long-term solicitor girlfriend Sophie Crosby in October 2019, and the couple celebrated the birth of their son, Cruz, in August.

He owns and runs Mr Hutton's Barbers and Bar in Darlington and also runs his own hairdressing academy where he offers training to aspiring barbers and he has been offering this online during the pandemic.
