Big Brother icon ready to rival Simon Cowell's X Factor and BGT with new show

The iconic north-eastern voice of Big Brother is off to new Geordie shores – on Amazon.

Marcus Bentley – who has been associated with Big Brother for more than 20 years – has been signed up to be the voice of an entertainment show.

He has voiceover duties on Now That’s Entertainment, a talent show to rival Simon Cowell’s X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, which has also signed BGT winners Richard Jones,George Sampson and X Factor champion Sam Bailey.

Marcus told how he felt “lost” without Big Brother when it ended in 2018. “None of us knew it would ever be so big,” Marcus said.

“I do feel a bit lost without it. I’ve got no doubt that it’s only a matter of time before it gets recommissioned.

“I’m happy to finally be coming back to the screens for my first ever talent show voiceover.

“Over the years of people- watching on Big Brother, I know how to spot a star – someone like Jade Goody – and I think we’re going to find one in this series of Now That’s Entertainment.”

The show has been on Amazon Prime but without any celeb names.

A source previously told the Mirror: “Cowell will be nervously looking over his shoulder.”
