Big Brother icon Kim Woodburn becomes Mrs Claus for Grainger Market's Christmas advert

Kim Woodburn has landed a rather surprising role by becoming the face of an Christmas advert for Newcastle's Grainger Market.

Having burst onto our screens nearly 20 years ago now alongside Aggie MacKenzie in How Clean is Your House, Kim then established herself as a reality TV icon, thank to memorable stints in the Australia jungle for I'm A Celebrity and then in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Kim became the subject of many memes and GIFs thanks to an array of viral moments on CBB, including her memorable 'adulterer' rant at footballer Jamie O'Hara.

This year's Grainger Delivery commercial is animated and the illustrations that make up the story of The Elf Who Saved Christmas are by local illustrator Monique Scott, who together with writer Craig Wilde have published a book of the story which goes on sale on Thursday, November 11.

Proceeds of the sale of the book will go to The Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund. This heartwarming Christmas book will be available via the Grainger Delivery website at a price of £9.99.

Author Craig said: "We wanted to do something extra special with Grainger Delivery this year - it’s been a huge success story for the city and region, born out of the Grainger Market’s response to the pandemic and still going strong.

"Last year's commercial was quite magical and we think this year we’ve gone one step up - not only producing this festive tale , but also in the book being able to give back to the wider community, through the great work of The Sunshine Fund. "
