Big Brother contestants have no idea about coronavirus amid worrying prediction

Big Brother contestants in Germany and Canada have no idea about coronavirus.

Housemates on these two versions of the reality TV show, which no longer airs in the UK, have been kept in the dark over the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, stars of the Australian show, which started filming three weeks ago, have been updated on the situation by bosses.

According to German broadcaster Sat.1, housemates in the German version will only be told "under certain circumstances", such as if one of their relatives becomes ill.

When they entered the Big Brother house on February 6, after they tested as negative, the contestants were only aware of cases in China and only a few around the world.

Sat.1 told German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung : "Of course, the residents will be informed if there is reason to do so,’ the station told German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung.

"Which information is given to the residents from outside is also decided in exchange with the relatives."

Contestants on the Canadian version of Big Brother have sensed that something big is going on outside the house.

In a clip that has gone viral on Twitter, the confused housemates discuss why there was no live audience watching the latest eviction.

Production company Global TV explained in a statement: “The health and safety of our staff, crew, houseguests, and audience members are of the utmost importance and effective today, March 12, we have suspended audience members from attending live tapings of the show until further notice.

“We will continue to produce the show and monitor the situation closely. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will advise on any changes to the production or broadcast schedules.”

Davina McCall turned into a zombie in Dead Set (Channel 4)

Many have claimed writer Charlie Brooker predicted the disaster with his Channel 4 show Dead Set.

The five-part horror series, which was released in 2008, saw Big Brother housemates trying to survive while a zombie apocalypse took place.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Once again reality seems to be extracted from the recesses of @charltonbrooker ' mind."

Another person tweeted: "This bit of canadian Big Brother where housemates have no idea why there wasn't a live audience crowd at evictions. this is what has finally tipped me over the edge"

A third joked: "These are the people that will inherit the earth"
