Big Brother contestants 'fear for their jobs' if Channel 4 re-air explicit scenes

Former Big Brothercontestants have complained that they fear for their jobs, after it was announced that Channel 4 plan to re-air clips from the original episodes – some of which contain explicit content.

Big Brother originally aired on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010, before moving to Channel 5 in 2011. Some of its early seasons contained scandalous moments, such as when two contestants (Makosi Musambasi and Anthony Hutton) got amorous in a hot tub.

Another infamous incident in the 2005 series saw contestant Kinga Karolczak allegedly masturbate on camera using a wine bottle. The 2004 series featured an incident known as “fight night”, wherein an argument turned violent, leading to a police investigation.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show’s debut, Channel 4 will be airing a clip show, hosted by Davina McCall and Rylan Clark-Neal, called Big Brother: Best Shows Ever Show.

But a source told The Sun: “The idea of those scenes being replayed now is a nightmare as many of them have respectable jobs and families.

“All the housemates knew what they were signing up for but as it was so long ago, those who shied away from the spotlight have moved on with their lives. Some have even changed their names and appearance so they aren’t recognised.”

However, The Sun also report that a source has confirmed that Channel 4 are consulting with former contestants before compiling the special, and will ensure that everyone is happy with the result.
