Big Brother Australia‘s raunchy reboot on Network 10 is in full swing with 12 housemates officially entering the game. While the aim was to find “everyday Aussies”, it appears that one of the contestants has a huge connection to reality TV, and fans are divided.
November has kicked off with a massive bang with Big Brother Australia, returning to its roots — AKA Network 10 and the Gold Coast’s Dreamworld — with hopes of tickling the pickles of its OG fanbase while reining in a new generation of fans.
During its casting process, the show emphasised that it was on the lookout for everyday Australians rather than influencers who’ve graced recent reality TV shows, *cough* Married At First Sight and Love Island *cough*.
With the 12 housemates being revealed at the show’s launch, fans were quite pleased with the mixed bag of participants who’ve given up their time for our entertainment, and a shot at a $100K prize. However, some fans noticed that one of the housemates actually has quite a few connections to reality TV.
As viewers scour the internet for any tea on 2025’s housemates, it has been revealed that Holly Young, a 31-year-old model who describes herself as a “unicorn”, has links to Australia’s reality TV world.
According to Daily Mail Australia, Holly was previously dating Luxe Listings star Gavin Rubinstein.
Per the publication, the duo hard-launched their relationship back in August 2024 before officially splitting up a few months later.

According to an insider, Holly and Gavin called it quits following an “intense overseas trip”.
“Things got complicated when they started travelling together,” the insider dished to Daily Mail.
“It was fast-paced from the beginning, but they were just in different places in life.”

But alongside this major connection, it appears that Holly had made close friends with other reality TV stars. Earlier this year, the Big Brother contestant was spotted alongside Married At First Sight 2025 bride Carina Mirabile in April.
Fans divided over Holly’s casting on Big Brother Australia
With reboot emphasising Big Brother‘s OG roots and the casting of everyday Aussies, some fans weren’t too keen on Holly’s place in the house. However, some reckon she could be fun to watch on TV.

TikToker Ethan Joely (@ethanjoely) also pointed out that Vincent Brigante AKA Vinnie — who claimed to be a barber on Big Brother Australia — is actually a musician who boasts more than 155.5K followers on TikTok.
He was also pulled on stage to play alongside American country superstar Zach Bryan in 2023.
Look, with Australia being the demure island that it is, there’s bound to be an influencer on every corner. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how they react when all their tea is spilled once they leave the Big Brother Australia house, and only the public controls when their time is up.
See y’all at evictions!
