Big Brother applications open for Glasgow locals and here is how to apply

Applications for the upcoming reboot of Big Brother are now open for Glasgow locals who think they have what it takes to enter.

The famous reality show, which originally debuted on Channel 4 in 2000, is returning to screens next year. Following an eight-year stint on Channel 5, Big Brother was cancelled in 2018 but is being revived by ITV2.

Taking to Twitter to announce to news, the official Big Brother UK account wrote: "Applications are now open for #BBUK 2023." The account also tweeted a link to the application form.

More information is available on the official Big Brother website, which states: "We’re looking for the nation’s most interesting, funny and entertaining characters from all walks of life. Think you’ve got what it takes to be a great housemate?

"If you want an amazing experience and a chance of winning an incredible amount of money, we’d love to hear from you. Closing date for applications is Friday 27th January 2023 at midnight."

How to apply for Big Brother 2023

In order to apply to be on Big Brother, you will need to visit the show's official website here. The homepage includes information on what producers are looking for in contestants as well as a link to the application form.

To be eligible, you must be over 18 years old, have the right to reside or lawfully reside in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, and be available to take part in the programme for up to eight weeks from Spring 2023.

The application then asks for basic personal information, such as your name, contact details, and gender identity. There is also space to include links to your social media accounts.

There are then a series of more personal and in-depth questions, including:

  • How would you describe your personality?
  • Who is your idol? Why?

  • What is your role in your circle of friends?

  • Why do you feel you would make a good Big Brother housemate?

Applicants are also asked to submit at least one image of themselves, as well as a video lasting approx one minute explaining why they feel they would be a good Big Brother Housemate.

Applications must be submitted by January 27, 2023.
