Big Baller Brand still has failing rating with Better Business Bureau

In theory, Big Baller Brand was a company that should have some momentum behind it. A small company run by a minority that is built around a family and their drive to succeed would drive many to support it on principle alone.

And in many cases, that very scenario played out. But Big Baller Brand has not lived up to its end of the bargain. Last January, the company received an ‘F’ rating, citing delays in receiving orders that lasted weeks or even months.

Fast forward to 2019 and little has changed in the company. In ESPN’s piece detailing the alleged money laundering from company co-founder Alan Foster, it was also revealed that the company still has a failing rating with Better Business Bureau.

From Blair Looney, president of the Better Business Bureau of Central California and Inland Empire Counties

“They still have an F with us. We are continuing to work with them on straightening things out.”

“We are trying to help Big Baller recognize what the issues are with their customers to help them fix those. And they haven’t, in our opinion, dedicated the resources it takes to get it done.”

Looney cited the companies lack of infrastructure and that the progress was going “slower than we would like to see.”

While the company’s future is in doubt for reasons outside of their failing grade with the Better Business Bureau, it certainly plays into the decision to not to fight to keep it running. Foster’s alleged money laundering from the company and Lonzo Ball and the details around the findings are the primary reason for the schism in the family and company.

Big Baller Brand’s failing grade, though, makes the company a floundering proposition rather than an enticing one. The family has already met about Big Baller Brand’s future and considering how drastically Ball is distancing himself from the company, it feels like only a matter of time that the company folds, a disappointing ending to a promising idea.
