Big Baller Brand’s homepage now redirects to ousted co-founder’s personal site

As if the situation with Big Baller Brand wasn’t already strange, it took another turn on Wednesday.

In the months since LaVar Ball’s company parted ways with co-founder Alan Foster amid an alleged $1.5 million embezzlement scheme, Big Baller Brand had ceased forward-facing operations. The company website had displayed an “under construction” message for six months. Lonzo and LaMelo Ball both distanced themselves from the brand. And Big Baller Brand held a clearance sale at a high school volleyball tournament. The company appeared dead.

On Wednesday, though, Twitter users noticed that the “under construction” message on the Big Baller Brand site was replaced by a redirect link. That link took visitors to … the personal website of Alan Foster.

Seriously.

Foster’s site wasn’t that of an apparel company. Instead, it promoted Foster’s business mentorship programs that started at $999. Foster was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to mail fraud and money laundering charges, which defrauded investors of $4 million. On top of that, he’s being accused of embezzling the Ball family out of nearly $2 million. So, yeah, maybe don’t look towards this guy for financial advice.

LaVar ultimately responded to Foster’s control of the original Big Baller Brand domain name and announced that his company would be moving to a new site. In a statement, LaVar called Foster a “thief” and a “con man.”

That new site also had a “coming soon” message because of course it did.

Foster has since countersued the Ball family, alleging that LaVar embezzled $2.6 million from the brand.
