Big backing to continue for Nottingham Forest against bottom side Luton

The City Ground is set for another bumper crowd on Sunday, when Luton Town visit Trentside for the first time since 2008.

Sunday’s high noon meeting in front of the television cameras is Nottingham Forest’s home outing first since beating Blackburn on New Year’s Day, and gives Sabri Lamouchi’s men the chance to make it three straight wins having suffered defeats in two of their three home games before Christmas.

The Hatters will arrive in Nottingham bottom of the Championship and looking for a first win on the road since September, but will be backed by a strong following from Bedfordshire.

Having sold their initial allocation of 1,300, Luton have been given more tickets for the lower Bridgford Stand taking their total to 1,751.

So far this season, Forest have the second best home average in the division behind league leaders Leeds United, as the positivity surrounding the Reds continues to rise.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds have been watched by an average of 27,630 in their 12 games, winning six of those, drawing two and losing four.

Forest were 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road back in November, with Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban netting the winning goals.

Luton’s last visit to Trentside in April 2008 saw them lose 1-0 courtesy of a Nathan Tyson goal 23 minutes from time, with the Reds going on to secure their dramatic promotion from League One.
