Biffy rocker strips for good cause

Biffy Clyro lead singer Simon Neil is set to take the Whiteleys Retreat message round the globe.

Simon was enjoying the Ayrshire Bulls rugby match with Ayr friends at Millbrae last weekend when he was expertly cornered by club promoter Brian Williamson.

Brian seized the opportunity to sign-up Simon, the heavily tatooed 40-year-old rock guitarist.

The nearby Whiteleys Retreat has its own Bulls charity strip, and now Simon has got one.

Brian revealed: “Simon has graciously agreed to post pictures of him in the strip with some of the people he meets on his travels.

“It’s a terrific way to spread the message of Whiteleys round the world.”

Simon agreed to go into the clubhouse and stripped off his top to wear the rugby shirt.

He also posed with Scotland international player Gordy Reid, who has also recently signed as a Whiteleys ambassador.

Brian added: “While setting up the impromptu shoot I explained the cause of Whiteleys Retreat, how we are trying to #spreadtheword across the country that the retreat exists and is available for any family with a child or children suffering from a life limiting illness.

“The offering is not limited to geography, income or status but simply by need.”

Whiteleys offers a great place for families and friends to get therapies, counselling and a place where they can be together with privacy and dignity.”

At the end of the meal the club auctioned three Robert Burns wall art boards donated by Owen Kerr Signs which raised £700 for the retreat.
