Bier Halle worker had cocktail chucked over him and barmaid assaulted in rammy

A Glasgow restaurant boss has told how a member of staff had a cocktail thrown over them and a barmaid was pushed to the floor in a night of chaos.

Police have launched a probe after two members of staff were verbally abused before one was physically assaulted at Bier Halle in the city centre at around 7.40pm on Monday, July 26.

Officers were called to the pub on Gordon Street after the 21-year-old woman was attacked.

No arrests have yet been made but cops say their enquires are ongoing.

Bar manager Max Durrant told the Record: "The two women got cut off and then one of them threw a daiquiri over the worker on the bar.

"Then our barmaid chased them to get a photo of them for evidence. She was then thrown to the floor.

"They've already given all their details online when they booked the table so that has been passed over to police."

Posting about the incident on social media last night, a spokesperson for Bier Halle said the assault came while staff were under pressure during the sweltering heatwave.

They said: "Don't be a d**k. Some people have clearly had too much sun.

"Two members of staff have been physically and verbally abused today.

"Our team have worked their hardest in over a year this week with the weather and extended hours.

"They absolutely don't deserve to be attacked at their work.

"If you're visiting us in the near future please show some love to our amazing crew."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.40pm on Monday, 26 July, we received a report of an assault on a 21-year-old woman at a premises on Gordon Street in Glasgow.

"Enquires into the incident are ongoing."
