'Bielsa with a Burnley Masterclass' - Leeds United fans hit back at critics

Leeds United fans have hit back at their team's critics following the 1-0 win over Burnley.

Marcelo Bielsa's men bounced back from their 6-2 thumping by Manchester United with victory against the Clarets at Elland Road on Sunday.

Patrick Bamford's early penalty was enough to secure all three points for the home side - and a welcome clean sheet.

They had to battle hard for the win, which has lifted them up to 11th place in the Premier League table.

Burnley looked to be unlucky not to have levelled with only 13 minutes on the clock.

Ashley Barnes fired home after Illan Meslier had spilled the ball in an aerial challenge with Ben Mee - but Leeds were awarded a free kick, so the goal was ruled out.

Bielsa and his players had come in for some criticism following the United defeat, with questions raised over their approach to the game.

But the Leeds faithful believe this gritty display will have proved a few people wrong.

One fan said on Twitter: "So what will the Leeds bashers say now?"

Another tweeted: "Surely the pundits will love that one? We're apparently naive and just ground out a 1-0. Bielsea with a Burnley Masterclass."

Meanwhile, a third supporter said: "Naive though, ain't we? Let's see how much credit pundits give us."

Leeds are back in Premier League action on Tuesday (December 29) when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns (6pm kick-off).
