Leeds United have been promoted back to the Premier League this evening after Huddersfield Town defeated the Whites' nearest promotion challengers - West Bromwich Albion - 2-1 at the John Smith's Stadium.
The Baggies travelled to West Yorkshire knowing that anything but a win would see Leeds promoted with two games to spare.
Huddersfield took an early lead through Chris Willock, only for the Baggies to controversially equalise just before half-time through defender Dara O'Shea.
Slaven Bilic's side threw everything at Danny Cowley's troops following the break and in the hope of delaying Leeds' return to the top-flight for as long as possible.
However, Arsenal loanee Emile Smith Rowe came up with an 86th-minute winner to seal the points for the Terriers, promoting Leeds in the process.
The result, of course, has ended 16 years of pain for the Elland Road club, who required just one more point from their remaining two matches regardless of what the Baggies and Brentford did in their remaining two games.
Now, Leeds can look forward to the final two matches, the first of which will see them travel to Derby County on Sunday, without too much pressure on their shoulders, though Marcelo Bielsa's side will now be pushing for the title.
