Joe Biden is set to sign an executive order that reverses a Trump-era military transgender ban and another which aims to boost government purchases from US manufacturers.
The president has been widely expected to overturn the transgender policy, which fell short of an all-out ban but barred transgender troops and military recruits from transitioning to another sex and required most individuals to serve in their birth gender.
The goal of the Buy American order would be to use the $600 billion the federal government spends on procurement to boost domestic factories and hiring, said officials.
It comes as Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani over his baseless about election fraud, and the Bidens brought their dogs Champ and Major to Washington DC.
