Biden: Future cyberattacks could spark ‘real shooting war’ on US

President Joe Biden’s warning a future cyberattack on the United States could spark what he describes as a “real shooting war” with a “major power”.

In a speech that comes as Washington highlights growing Russian and Chinese threats, Biden says he thinks “it’s more than likely” that if the US goes to war in the future, it’s going to be as “a consequence of a cyber breach”.

The President made the remarks while visiting the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

The Internet Watch Foundation warns a huge volume of child sexual abuse material removed from the internet in the first half of 2021 was being produced by children who have been coerced by online predators.

This year, the IWF has already removed more than 100,000 illegal web pages containing imagery of children being sexually abused.

Experts say they fear relaxing coronavirus restrictions could pave the way for new virus mutations that are resistant to vaccines.
