Bidding war pushes Liverpool terrace £33k over asking price

The bids came pouring in for two Merseyside properties this week as they sold for thousands above their asking price at auction.

Liverpool, like many areas, experienced a property boom throughout the pandemic, with demand still rising.

The region is reported to have the fastest growing house prices of any city in the UK.

Estate agents Sutton Kersh certainly saw a demand during their auction this week.

This includes properties in both Garston and Bootle, which attracted a lot of attention from buyers hoping to snatch them up.

A detached, two storey freehold building in Bootle sold for £70,000 over its guide price, raking in a total of £181,000.

It formerly served as a public house, together with a plot of land, on Canal Street/Berry Street.

The property was spread out over two floors, with the added bonus of a basement.

A two-bedroom terraced house in Bellmore Street, Garston also attracted a lot of attention during a fierce bidding war.

Selling for over £30,000 more than its guide price of £85,000, this middle terraced home is in close proximity to Garston Village and raked in £118,000 at auction.

Also selling successfully at the auction was a six-bed HMO on Brighton Street, Wallasey which is spread out over three storeys.

All bedrooms have en-suites and the property sold for £256,500.
