Belfast electronic duo Bicep are on course for their first ever No1 on the UK Albums Chart, if sales hold steady until Friday, January 29.
Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar released their second album Isles last week, to widespread acclaim.
Now, it seems that the NI duo have won over the public as well, with the album currently charting top on the UK Albums Chart this week.
According to the Official Charts website, just 103 chart sales separate the Northern Ireland electronic duo and Sheffield rock giants Bring Me The Horizon, who have released their latest album Post Human: Survival Horror.
Their website reads: "The second studio album from Bicep – aka Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar – Isles has scored the most downloads over the weekend and is the most-streamed new release of the week so far, putting the pair well on their way to a new personal best on the Official Chart this week.
The pair’s self-titled debut album peaked at Number 20 in September 2017."
Bicep
Bicep are one of the most successful dance/electronic acts in Northern Irish history, and have been at the centre of a burgeoning dance culture scene which has existed in Northern Ireland in recent years.
McBriar and Ferguson had been childhood friends, and formed Bicep in 2009.
Since then, they've developed a massive fanbase both at home and abroad, headlining everywhere from Belfast's AVA Festival to Barcelona's Primavera, as well as playing sold-out shows across the globe.
