Bibimbap looking to expand Glasgow city centre restaurant into empty shop next door

Korean café Bibimbap is looking to expand its premises in Glasgow city centre.

The popular eatery is currently based on West Nile Street but is looking to move into an empty shop next door.

Bibimbap has applied for permission to turn the former Flight Centre into an extension of their current restaurant.

If given the go-ahead, the move would mark another major expansion for the restaurant, following the opening of Bibimbap West last year.

However, they could soon have some serious competition as another Korean restaurant has applied for permission to move into the city.

Sodaeng is looking to move into the former Cafe Hula premises on Hope Street.

The company, which is already a popular fixture in Edinburgh, is applying for permission to open a restaurant and takeaway.

Both plans are due to go before Glasgow City Council.
