NAKHON RATCHASIMA: The Bhumjaithai Party is ready for the forthcoming election and confident of sweeping all 14 seats in the House of Representatives up for grabs in the province, party leader Anuthin Charnvirakul said on Sunday.
Mr Anuthin said his party has prepared top-grade candidates to contest all 14 constituencies of this northeastern province. They are former members of the provincial administration organisation, provincial council and municipalities as well as prominent businessmen who are natives of the province and have long established a close relationship with local people, he added.
Once its policies are disseminated, the party is certain to win acceptance from the people, Mr Anuthin said, adding that Bhumjaithai aims to take all 14 House seats in the province.
Mr Anuthin said he is not worried by heavyweights of other political parties travelling to different areas to prepare for election campaigns, particularly Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, his first political mentor, who chairs the Pheu Thai Party's committee on campaign strategies.
Bhumjaithai is ready to start campaigning, and is now just waiting for the election to be officially announced, he said.
"The constitution is designed for every vote to be meaningful. Every single vote will be used to calculate the number of MPs on the party lists. Each party is entitled to an MP with just 70,000 votes. So the race will be fiercely contested," Mr Anuthin said.
