Bhopal: Youth must take responsibility of the less privileged lot, says Governor

BHOPAL: Governor Mangubhai Patel has expressed concern over the decline in moral valuesin the society. In the context of the incident in which a teenager killed his mother, he said that every new technology and research has positive and negative effects.

It is the responsibility of the family and the school to guide the children towards positivity in life. We must provide a protective shield of Indian culture and moral values to children against negativity. He said that for a healthy body, it is necessary for all the organs to be healthy. Similarly, development of all classes and communities is necessary for a healthy society. It is necessary that the able and capable sections of the society take the responsibility of development of the underprivileged and cooperate with them.

The Governor was addressing the 5th Foundation Day programme of a school in Sehore a day earlier. He said that children are soft like flowers and their hearts are soft like clay. The values instilled by parents and teachers have the greatest effect on a child’s heart and mind.

How the child will grow up determines the family and school environment.

He said he expected parents to use polite language and good behaviour in front of children. They must not argue or fight in front of children even if there is a difference of opinion or estrangement between husband and wife. By sending children to school, it is not proper to assume that the responsibility of the development of the children lies with the teachers only.

He said, parents should also cooperate with the children in studies and examination management. Do not put pressure on kids.
