BHOPAL: A 33-year-old woman was threatened and raped by a man on Friday night. Earlier also the same person has raped the woman with a promise of marriage, but later he stepped back from his promise. A case of rape was registered at the Kamla Nagar police station and police said the accused was nabbed.
Police said the 33 year old woman works as domestic help to earn livelihood. The accused, identified as Monu, came to her house in January and outraged her modesty with a promise of marriage. When the woman later pressurized him for marriage, he stepped back from promise.
On Friday night, the accused barged into her house and raped her at knife point threatening of dire consequences. He later fled the spot. The woman approached Kamla Nagar police.
