Bhopal: Woman duped on pretext of marriage at Shyamla Hills

BHOPAL: A Shyamla Hills-based 25-year-old woman was allegedly duped by a fraudster on the pretext of marriage after befriending her on a matrimonial website. The accused took Rs 31,000 from her and then refused to marry her. Acting on her complaint, Shyamla Hills police registered a case on Tuesday night.

SHO Shyamla Hills Umesh Yadav said that the complainant runs a women’s garment business. Around three years back, she came in contact with Omar, a resident of Dhar, through a matrimonial website. She started talking with him over the phone and agreed to marry him. The accused took the amount from her for an urgent need. The woman sent the money. When he refused to marry her, she demanded her money back and filed a complaint with police.
