BHOPAL: It is an annual event which celebrates all things tribal and folk. Organised with great fanfare at Tribal Museum Bhopal, music dance and art lovers wait every year for this colourful celebration of ethnic traditions, which leaves an indelible mark on the audience’s hearts. But this time, due to Covid-19 restrictions in place, the festival has taken a virtual avatar, but that hasn’t taken a bit from its inherent grace and beauty. The threeday event that began on September 24, will end today and the virtual audiences are making the most of it in the given scenario.
Curator of Tribal Museum, Ashok Mishra, said, even though the popular festival is being streamed live online this time, there are many ardent fans of the event, who expressed regret at not being to enjoy it in physical form. “With pandemic still lurking around, it is not possible to organise any cultural event for masses on our premises; we hope that next year we can present Lok Raag to city audience in all its grandeur. But we are happy about the fact that over 90 artistes got a chance to perform at this festival; all the performances were shot at Tribal Museum,” he added.
