BHOPAL: The first edition of Hockey India Sub-Junior Men Academy National Championship will held in Bhopal from October 4.

Sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that the state is not just producing international athletes, but it is also hosting prestigious tournaments.

“We have produced players like Vivek Sagar, who played an important role in helping India win the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics this year. We have recently felicitated the Indian women's hockey team after they secured a place in the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics. Now, we will host the national tournaments also. MP is playing a key role in developing sports in the country,” said Scindia.

“We are all prepared to host successful national championships. We will give the best of the facilities for the participating teams,” she added. Around 26 teams will participate in the tournament.
