BHOPAL: After a clear morning, sudden spells of rain were witnessed in parts of the city on Saturday. Showers were also witnessed in several other places of the state.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal, said that a cyclonic circulation active over Madhya Pradesh which may lead to rain in the state from September 28.
Day temperature in Bhopal stood at 31.4 degree Celsius, a degree less than the normal mark, while night temperature was 23.4 degrees, which was two degrees above normal.
Among places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm were Khandwa (97mm), Indore (42.4mm), Seoni (41mm), Chhindwara (41mm), Khajuraho
(23.2mm), Damoh (22mm), Shajapur (20mm), Dhar (16mm) and Pachmarhi (12mm). Bhopal city recorded 2.4mm rain.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday, there would be cloudy sky with possibility of thunder and rain. Officials issued warning of heavy showers for Dhar, Sehore, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Alirajpur and Ujjain. A warning of thunder and lightning was issued for Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, Hoshangabad, Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Bhopal, Gwalior and Chambal divisions.
