BHOPAL: Strong spells of showers continued in Bhopal and other places of the state on Tuesday. It was clear weather in the city during the morning, but showers were witnessed in the afternoon.
Weather cleared for some time, but showers made a comeback in the evening. A similar weather is likely to prevail in Bhopal and other places of the state.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, the monsoon trough line is passing over from Sagar in the state. It would lead to widespread showers in the state for the next two days while fresh formations would be needed for showers after Thursday, the officials added.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 29.9 degrees Celsius, which was at the normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 24.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. Wind direction in the city was south westerly and average wind speed was 10 kilometers per hour.
The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Bhopal 26.5 mm, Bhopal city 26.4 mm, Hoshangabad 13.0 mm, Indore 12.2 mm, Gwalior 4.2 mm, Khargone 2.0 mm, Chhindwara 1.0 mm, Pachmarhi 1.0 mm, Guna 16.0 mm, Shajapur 22.0 mm, Ujjain 0.6 mm, Dhar 19.0 mm and Ratlam recorded 9.0 mm showers. In the forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday the meteorological officials said, there would be cloudy sky with thunder and rain in the city. Day and night temperature in the city would be respectively at 29 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 16 kilometers per hour.
Likewiose, in the forecast for state, meteorological office issued warning of heavy showers for places including Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar and Ujjain districts. Warning of thunder and lightning was issued for Bhopal, Indore and Ujjain divisions, officials added.
